Indian Hill shut out Oakwood 6-0 on Monday, Aug. 31, according to the team's schedule, pushing its field hockey record to 4-0 under first-year head coach Emily Betz.

The Braves haven't lost yet.

Indian Hill controlled the Southwest Ohio Field Hockey League (SWOFHL) conference matchup at Lane Stadium, Oakwood's home field. No individual scoring leaders were available from the game.

The shutout continued a strong start for the Braves, who opened the season with a 4-2 win over Olentangy Orange on Aug. 22 and a 7-2 SWOFHL victory over Ursuline Academy on Aug. 25 before edging North Oldham on Aug. 29 to reach 3-0.

Senior captain Mirabel Chandler has been a catalyst in the early going. The starting midfielder tallied two goals and two assists in the Ursuline win and added a goal against Olentangy Orange, earning a Cincinnati Enquirer field hockey player of the week nomination for the week ending Aug. 30.

Betz arrived at Indian Hill after coaching at The Summit Country Day School, where she was named SWOFHL Coach of the Year three times, in 2019, 2020 and 2025. At Summit, she led the program to its first playoff appearance in over a decade in 2019 and helped four student-athletes continue playing in college, including two at the NCAA Division I level. She played Division I field hockey at Davidson College, serving as team captain and earning All-Conference honors.

Her coaching philosophy at Indian Hill centers on three core values: accountability, grit and teamwork. In her coach profile published when she joined the program earlier this year, Betz laid out the standard she set for the Braves: "Success is giving your full effort every time you step onto the field, committing to getting better each day, and making your teammates better because you were there."

Indian Hill travels to Ballard High School in Kentucky on Friday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. The Braves then host Oakwood in a SWOFHL rematch on Monday, Sept. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at Tomahawk Stadium.
