Madeira families have a few weeks to help their kids create artwork for the district's annual holiday greeting card contest.

The Madeira City School District contest, titled "Looking Through a Winter Window," asks students from preschool through high school to submit one piece of original color artwork, according to the district's contest page. Each entry must depict the student's interpretation of looking through a window and include the words "Happy Holidays from Madeira City Schools" or "Holiday Greetings from Madeira City Schools."

Four winners will be chosen, one per school. The Madeira Board of Education will print the winning designs as holiday cards and recognize the winners at its December meeting.

The district's website shows two different deadlines. Its contest page lists entries as due by 4 p.m. Nov. 6, while a separate district posting lists 4 p.m. Nov. 13. Families should confirm the date with the district before submitting.

Winning cards should reflect the broader community and not one specific holiday. A general winter theme is also acceptable. Printed cards will measure 4.25 by 5.5 inches. Students' names will appear on the back of the winning card, not in the design.

Students can enter online through a Google Form or print a paper entry form. Both are linked on the district's contest page.
