Six Sycamore High School students pitched their programs to alumni and business professionals at an Aviators & Innovators breakfast Thursday, Oct. 8.

The morning event at 7400 Cornell Road brought community partners from across Greater Cincinnati to the high school for student-led presentations, an a cappella performance and facility tours, according to the district. The breakfast ran from 8 to 9:30 a.m., with an optional building tour afterward.

Alp Onguc and Myra Sahay presented on Sycamore's DECA chapter, the business and marketing competition program. Brooke Rohner and Gwyn McClain walked guests through Fashion for the Cure, a student-run fundraiser that set a $100,000 goal this year for The Dragonfly Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer patients and their families. Maya Moeddel and Madison Carrier rounded out the lineup with a presentation on broader student opportunities at the school.

The district's Child Nutrition team prepared breakfast. Octaviation, one of Sycamore's select a cappella groups, opened the morning with a performance before the presentations began.

After the formal program, guests toured the high school and spoke directly with students during an engagement session. The district said attendees shared industry insights with students during that portion of the event.

DECA's program at Sycamore got a boost this fall with the arrival of new advisor Gossett, a former brand director at Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson and Unilever. "Follow your curiosity. Pursue the events and topics that interest you most," Gossett said in an Aug. 14 Instagram post introducing her to the DECA chapter. "It makes your prep way more fun, and your passion will give you a competitive edge."

The district said the breakfast reinforced the partnership between Sycamore Community Schools and the local business community. Student volunteers who worked behind the scenes to organize the morning also received thanks from the district.

Fashion for the Cure's 2026 fundraiser for The Dragonfly Foundation is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 13 at Sycamore High School.
