Indian Hill won three of five home contests Saturday, Oct. 3, as JV volleyball swept the day and JV football topped Mariemont 20-6 across a four-sport afternoon at three venues.

The varsity girls volleyball squad split a pair of three-set matches at Indian Hill Middle School Gym. The Braves dropped the first set to New Richmond 25-19 before rallying to take the next two, 25-19 and 25-22, for a 2-1 victory. Summit Country Day proved tougher in the second match, beating Indian Hill 2-1. Set scores for the Summit loss were not posted on the Braves athletics calendar.

Over at Indian Hill Elementary School Gym, the JV volleyball team swept the day 2-0. The JV squad needed three sets in both matches, edging New Richmond 23-25, 28-26, 16-14 and then topping Summit Country Day 23-25, 25-20, 25-17.

Both wins came after dropping the opening set.

At Tomahawk Stadium, Indian Hill's JV football team handled Mariemont 20-6 in a Cincinnati Hills League conference game. The varsity programs met Sept. 18 at Kusel Stadium, where Indian Hill won 48-7. Mariemont's varsity fell to Deer Park 17-0 on Friday, Oct. 2, according to Yahoo Sports, the same night Indian Hill's varsity routed Finneytown 58-0 in CHL play. Indian Hill's athletics page listed that score as 59-0.

Two other Indian Hill teams were in action Saturday. The field hockey squad, 11-0 and ranked No. 1 in Cincinnati and No. 7 in Ohio by MaxPreps entering the day, hosted DuPont Manual at Tomahawk Stadium. Boys soccer traveled to St. Francis DeSales. Neither game had a final score posted as of Sunday, Oct. 4.

As we reported Friday, the field hockey team ran its record to 11-0 with a win over Ursuline on Oct. 1. Fay Van de Meulengraaf was credited with 22 goals and Mirabel Chandler with nine assists entering the game, according to MaxPreps.

The week ahead is heavy on conference matchups. Girls volleyball hosts Madeira on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 6:30 p.m. Field hockey plays Fairmont on Monday, Oct. 5, at 5:30 p.m. and Mount Notre Dame on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m., both at Tomahawk Stadium. Boys soccer visits Madeira on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Varsity football hosts Madeira on Friday, Oct. 9, with JV football traveling to Madeira on Saturday, Oct. 10.
