Indian Hill earned the No. 6 seed in the Division III, Region 12 bracket and will host No. 11 Kettering Alter on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) playoffs.

The Braves (8-2) enter the postseason riding a six-game winning streak, according to cleveland.com's Division III preview. Their last loss was a 48-47 triple-overtime game against Wyoming.

The OHSAA released the official playoff pairings on Sunday, Oct. 25, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The top four seeds in each region received first-round byes. Seeds five through 12 play Oct. 30, with the higher seed hosting.

Indian Hill is competing in Division III for the first time after moving up from Division IV. The Braves went 13-1 in 2025 and reached the Division IV state semifinals under head coach John Rodenberg, now in his fifth season at Indian Hill and his 33rd year as a high school head coach.

Alter (6-4) brings a tested schedule despite the record. Cleveland.com noted the Knights played one of the toughest slates in Region 12, including a 20-14 overtime loss to Badin and a 10-7 road loss to unbeaten Bellbrook, the region's No. 1 seed. All-Ohio running back Drew Cripps leads the Alter offense.

Cleveland.com tagged the matchup as the best first-round game in Region 12. A win would send Indian Hill to No. 3 seed McNicholas (8-2) in the second round.

Indian Hill, Deer Park (9-1) and Wyoming (9-1) share the Cincinnati Hills League championship, according to WCPO. As we reported Oct. 24, the Braves were projected into the D-III field before the official bracket dropped.

The three CHL co-champions landed in three different divisions. Wyoming earned the No. 1 seed in Division IV, Region 16, with a first-round bye, according to the Columbus Dispatch. Deer Park is the No. 2 seed in Division VI, Region 24, also with a bye.

In a WCPO preseason feature published in July, senior quarterback Devlan Daniel set the tone for the Braves' 2026 campaign. "Everyone wants to be here … Everyone wants to compete. We all have the same goal," Daniel said.

Daniel threw for 1,192 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 1,116 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2025. Senior defensive back Dylan Hartman, a Division IV first-team all-state selection last season, anchors the secondary.

State championship games are scheduled for Dec. 3-5 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. Kickoff for Indian Hill vs. Alter is 7 p.m. Friday.
