Indian Hill is headed to the OHSAA football playoffs.
The Braves finished the regular season 8-2 and are projected to land as the 6th or 7th seed in the Division III, Region 12 bracket, according to WCPO 9 Cincinnati reporter Mike Dyer. The projections are based on computer points compiled by analyst Joe Eitel and are considered unofficial until the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) announces official qualifiers Sunday afternoon, Oct. 25.
First-round games across the state are set for Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m., with the better seed hosting.
That means Indian Hill would host its opening-round opponent at Tomahawk Stadium. If the Braves land at No. 6, they would face No. 11 Alter (6-4). At No. 7, the opponent would be No. 10 Goshen (9-1).
The projected Region 12 bracket features five teams with first-round byes: Bellbrook (10-0) at No. 1, followed by Tippecanoe (9-1), McNicholas (8-2), Chillicothe (8-2) and Miami Trace (9-1). Unioto (7-3), Northwest (8-2) and Monroe (6-4) round out the 12-team field. The bracket is not yet finalized.
Indian Hill enters the postseason riding a six-game win streak, according to the team's schedule page. The Braves went 6-1 in Cincinnati Hills League play and posted a 4-1 record at home. Six of their eight wins came by 20 or more points, including four shutouts.
The two losses came early. Indian Hill fell 48-47 in a one-point game against Wyoming on Friday, Sept. 11. The Braves have not lost since.
If Indian Hill advances past the first round, the regional quarterfinals are scheduled for Nov. 6, with the better seed hosting. Regional semifinals follow Nov. 13, also at the higher seed's home field. Regional finals move to neutral sites Nov. 20. The state semifinals are set for Nov. 29 at neutral locations, and the OHSAA state championship games are scheduled for Dec. 3-5 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
Official pairings are expected Sunday afternoon. Braves fans should circle Oct. 30 for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Tomahawk Stadium.
