Indian Hill Elementary School student Maddy Carney is November’s Brave Book Club honoree, according to Indian Hill Schools.
The district’s announcement features Superintendent Melissa Stewart visiting Carney’s classroom to share her story.
The Brave Book Club turns student experiences into books, with the featured child as the main character. The district says teachers contribute the real experiences behind each story.
The program produces one book for Indian Hill Primary School and another for Indian Hill Elementary School each month, according to the district.
A January district announcement described the club’s elementary-school debut by featuring fifth grader Natalie Yeary. Stewart was interim superintendent at that time; Yeary was the featured student.
The district says copies of the books are available in each school’s media center.
