Indian Hill High School students will have a new Testing Center when classes resume Thursday, Aug. 13, giving them a quiet, focused room for assessments separate from their regular classrooms.

The school announced the space on Thursday, Aug. 6, describing it as a place where students can complete tests in a calm environment free from everyday classroom activity. The post framed the addition as part of the district's #IHPromise commitment to helping every student perform their best.

The Testing Center is the latest in a string of physical upgrades the high school has previewed this summer. The school also overhauled its Media Center with a maker zone and tech support area, as reported July 27, and added a redesigned Study Hall built around student choice, also covered July 29. All three spaces were previewed through the school's summer social media series that launched June 30.

The renovations tie into a broader schedule redesign that Principal Andy Gruber presented to the Board of Education at its April 21 meeting. That plan, developed with input from staff, students, families, alumni and community partners, adds a 60-to-75-minute daily flex block for lunch, clubs, academic support, counseling and collaboration. It also introduces an open study model giving students more control over unstructured time.

The district has not disclosed the Testing Center's exact location within the building, its seating capacity or whether the project required board approval. The next Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the District Office at 6855 Drake Road.
