The Sycamore Aviators have lost all four games to open the 2026 football season, extending a losing streak that stretches back 14 games to the 2025 campaign.
Sycamore sits at 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the Greater Miami Conference (GMC) after falling to top-ranked Princeton 56-7 on Friday, Sept. 11. The Aviators went 0-10 in 2025 under head coach Darryn Chenault and have yet to win in 2026.
The Week 4 loss to Princeton was the most lopsided of the four. The Vikings scored 35 points in the second quarter alone and held Sycamore to 82 yards of total offense, according to cleveland.com. That total included minus-14 rushing yards on 20 carries. Sycamore did not score until the final five minutes.
The season opened Aug. 21 with a 34-6 loss to Kings. Kings running back Oliver Young rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns in that game, per the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Week 2 brought a 43-24 loss to Mason on Aug. 28 in the GMC opener. Mason quarterback Alex Nagel ran for 181 yards and four touchdowns against the Aviators, according to cleveland.com. The loss was not all bad for Sycamore. Quarterback Zachary Branam completed 26 of 35 passes for 346 yards and four touchdowns, the best passing performance in the GMC that week, according to SI.
Hamilton beat Sycamore 31-21 in Week 3 on Sept. 4. Running back Amerious Stringer carried the Big Blue with 159 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, per the Enquirer.
Opposing run games have punished the Aviators all season. Young gashed them for 132 yards in Week 1. Nagel ran for 181 in Week 2. Stringer added 159 in Week 3. Against Princeton, Sycamore managed minus-14 rushing yards of its own.
The Aviators host Fairfield on Friday, Sept. 18. Fairfield enters at 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the GMC after a 34-28 overtime loss to Colerain in Week 4, per WLWT's Blitz 5 rankings. The Indians are averaging 316 yards of total offense per game. Fairfield went 6-6 in 2025 under head coach Justin Roden, per SI's preseason GMC preview.
One team will leave Friday with its first GMC win of 2026.
