Chamberlain University's new Sycamore Township nursing campus enrolled its first class Aug. 31, with six start dates offered each year.

The program provides a three-year path to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no prerequisite courses and no application fee, according to a university announcement. The campus at 5905 E. Galbraith Road in Kenwood Collection can hold up to 450 students, according to the Loveland-Symmes Chronicle.

It is Chamberlain's 25th location nationwide and its second in Ohio, joining a Columbus campus open since 2007.

The program's calendar runs three semesters per year: fall, spring and summer. Each semester lasts 16 weeks and is split into two eight-week sessions, according to Chamberlain's Ohio program page. Evening and weekend scheduling is available.

Six session starts per year mean someone who decides to enroll in November would not have to wait until the following fall. There are no waitlists.

More than half the students at Chamberlain's Ohio campuses are over 25. As of fall 2025, 52% of students were older than 25, according to the university.

"The biggest myth is that you have to be a fresh high school graduate with a straight-A science background and no major outside responsibilities," said Priya Shastri, executive campus director for the Cincinnati location. "In reality, life experience, empathy, and adaptability are just as critical as academic prep, and adult learners often make some of the most extraordinary nurses."

"We see a diverse mix of recent high school graduates, career changers looking for meaningful work, and healthcare workers leveling up their credentials," Shastri said.

Hamilton County Commissioner Denise Driehaus declared Aug. 20 "Chamberlain University Day" in the county. Driehaus said at the ribbon cutting that the region has faced a nursing shortage since COVID and called the new campus a welcome addition.

Chamberlain and its parent company, Covista, also announced a three-year, $150,000 partnership with The Health Collaborative to bring healthcare career programs to Cincinnati-area middle and high school students. At the ribbon cutting, Chamberlain awarded its first Future Healthcare Hero BSN Scholarship, covering the full cost of one Cincinnati resident's nursing degree, and announced three additional scholarships.

Chamberlain's Columbus campus posted a 98.36% pass rate on the NCLEX, the national nursing licensure exam, in 2025 with an average class size of 16 students. The first Cincinnati cohort is set to graduate in 2029.
