Democratic incumbent Jessica E. Miranda is seeking a full term as Hamilton County auditor in the Nov. 3, 2026, election. The county’s current certified candidate list lists no opponent.

Experience and public service

According to her campaign biography, Miranda was appointed auditor in 2024 and elected later that year to complete an unexpired term. She previously represented Ohio House District 28, served as Ohio House Democratic whip, and was president of the Winton Woods City School Board. She is a former school board member, rather than a current member as earlier versions of this profile stated.

Her biography says she graduated from Talawanda High School and owns a business providing insurance and tax services. It also describes her legislative work on school funding, student mental health, local government funding and protections for survivors of sexual violence.

On the issues

Miranda’s current auditor campaign platform identifies three priorities:

  • Property valuations: She calls for accurate and equitable assessments that comply with state rules, so homeowners and businesses can trust the valuation process.
  • Transparency: She wants residents to find information online about public budgets, tax abatements and other projects, with open communication and public engagement in the office’s work.
  • Modernization: She supports better technology and online access to streamline operations and improve service to residents.

These are her stated campaign goals. Her campaign also says the office has rebuilt its website and that she has advocated for property tax relief alongside the County Auditors Association of Ohio.
