Indian Hill's varsity boys soccer team fell to Archbishop Carroll 3-2 on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Shawnee Field after leading at halftime.
The Braves trailed 1-0 before Gabe Cavallero equalized with 23 minutes left in the first half. Andy Stein then put Indian Hill ahead 2-1 four minutes later.
The Braves carried that lead into the break.
Archbishop Carroll scored twice in the second half to take a 3-1 lead. McFarland pulled Indian Hill within one at 3-2 with 20 minutes remaining, but the Patriots held on for the win, according to updates posted by Indian Hill Athletics Director Brian Phelps on X.
The JV boys soccer squad suffered the same fate, losing 3-2 to Archbishop Carroll. Indian Hill trailed 2-0 at the half, cut the deficit to 2-1 with 30 minutes left, but could not complete the comeback.
JV football: Mariemont edges Indian Hill
At Tomahawk Stadium, Mariemont's JV squad edged Indian Hill 24-20 in a Cincinnati Hills League game. Phelps described the contest as a thriller on X.
The result flipped the script from the night before. Indian Hill's varsity football team routed Mariemont 48-7 on Friday, Sept. 18, at Kusel Stadium, according to the Braves athletics calendar.
JV volleyball sweeps three matches
Indian Hill's JV girls volleyball program went 3-0 on Saturday. One squad beat Fairfield 2-0 at Indian Hill Middle School. A second squad, competing at a tournament at Fairfield High School, beat Fairfield 2-1 (25-13, 19-25, 25-21) and then defeated Monroe 2-0.
Still awaiting results
Several Saturday contests had no posted final scores as of Sunday, Sept. 20. Varsity girls volleyball played at Fairfield High School, girls tennis competed in the GCTCA Coaches' Classic at Walnut Hills High School, both cross country teams ran in the Troy Twilight Invitational at Troy High School, and the middle school girls tennis team competed in the Sycamore Doubles Tournament at Sycamore High School.
