Indian Hill has requested approval for a smaller water treatment facility as Terrace Park prepares to leave its water system, according to the village.

Indian Hill’s project update says the village submitted a revised General Plan to the Environmental Protection Agency on Oct. 29.

The facility would remove per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, known as PFAS. The village says the reduction in customers lowers the amount of treatment capacity it needs.

The village’s current PFAS facility update estimates approximately 25% less capacity than previously planned, with a smaller building footprint. It says design is underway.

Indian Hill says it still needs a PFAS removal facility and is planning toward an April 2029 compliance deadline. Submitting a revised plan does not establish that regulators have approved it.

Water service during the transition

Indian Hill says it delivered formal one-year notice to end its current contract with Terrace Park to keep the treatment project on schedule.

The village says it will continue providing water on mutually acceptable terms until Terrace Park completes its transition to Greater Cincinnati Water Works.

The project update does not provide a revised construction price or a specific date for completing the water-service switch.
