Indian Hill scored 48 points Friday, Sept. 18, as the Braves routed Cincinnati Hills League rival Mariemont 48-7 at Kusel Stadium.
The lopsided victory moved Indian Hill to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in CHL play, according to MaxPreps. It was a decisive bounce-back for a team that fell to Wyoming 48-47 in triple overtime on Sept. 11.
Head coach John Rodenberg's squad put the game away early against the Warriors. Individual player statistics were not yet available, but the 41-point margin told the story.
The Braves entered the season with high expectations after going 13-1 and reaching the OHSAA Division IV state semifinals in 2025. Indian Hill moved up to Division III this fall. Senior quarterback Devlan Daniel, a dual-threat passer and runner who is verbally committed to Mississippi State for baseball, threw for 1,192 yards and rushed for 1,116 yards last season. Junior tailback Jacob Alexander added 674 rushing yards in 2025.
WLWT's Week 4 preview described Indian Hill's ground attack as "a physical running game" with Alexander leading the way and Daniel capable of breakout games through the air or on the ground. Linebacker Topher Wachtel, a junior who recorded 83 tackles last season, anchors the defense. Senior defensive back Dylan Hartman, a 2025 Division IV first-team all-state selection, returns on both sides of the ball.
"Every year is a new season," Rodenberg said in a July preseason interview with WCPO. "You get some returners but you've got a whole group of new players."
Five weeks in, the returners are producing. Indian Hill has scored 35 or more points in three of its five games, and the defense held Mariemont to a single score Friday.
