Indian Hill has created a new alumni engagement program called Braves for Life, led by Athletic Director Brian Phelps in an expanded role the district established earlier this year.
"We aren't fundraising – we are friend-raising," Phelps said in an Indian Hill Schools post on X on Oct. 26, calling the program "a new department under construction" with an open invitation to join.
The district announced Phelps' promotion on April 21 in an Instagram post. His new position, in addition to athletic director, carries the title Director of Alumni Engagement and Activities Advancement, according to the Indian Hill Braves staff directory. The district said the role is meant to unify athletics and arts programs while building connections with Indian Hill graduates.
Braves for Life will include a comprehensive alumni network, mentorship and career bridge programs, and traditions meant to keep graduates engaged across generations, the district said. Phelps will collaborate with the Indian Hill Foundation on alumni relationships.
The program is already active. Indian Hill Schools posted on X on Oct. 20 that a "record crowd" attended a Business @ Breakfast event where alumni partners sat at tables branded with the Braves for Life name.
The alumni push extends beyond Braves for Life. Dr. Timothy Kremchek, a 1977 Indian Hill graduate and Cincinnati Reds medical director, was scheduled to speak at the district's Leadership Summit on The Hill on Oct. 16. The district said it is bringing accomplished alumni back to campus this school year to share their career experiences with students through the Entrepreneurs' Center.
"Our alumni are one of Indian Hill's greatest resources," Phelps said in the district's announcement of the Kremchek event.
Phelps joined Indian Hill in 2020 and brings more than 25 years of experience in coaching, teaching and athletic administration. Under his watch, Indian Hill athletics have captured multiple Cincinnati Hills League All-Sports Cups.
The district has not published a specific sign-up page for Braves for Life. Phelps can be reached at 513-272-4630 or [email protected]. The district said for the 2026-27 school year it plans to continue inviting graduates back to invest their expertise in the next generation of Braves.
