Indian Hill's varsity boys soccer team battled CHL rival Mariemont to a 2-2 draw Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Shawnee Field.
The teams were level at halftime, Indian Hill Athletic Director Brian Phelps noted on X. Neither side could pull ahead in the second half, and the conference match ended in a split.
The JV Braves had an easier time of it. Indian Hill's junior varsity squad beat Mariemont 5-1 in the earlier match at Shawnee Field, according to the Indian Hill athletics department. The lopsided JV result set the stage for what turned into a tighter varsity contest.
Individual goal scorers for the varsity match were not available as of Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Busy Tuesday across Indian Hill athletics
The draw came during a packed day for the Braves. The girls golf team competed in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament at Walden Ponds Golf Course on Sept. 15, a postseason event. Results had not been posted as of Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The girls volleyball team also traveled to Mariemont for a CHL conference match, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and available to stream on ICRC. That result had not been posted either.
Stein earns Enquirer athlete-of-the-week nod
Senior Andy Stein picked up a nomination for the Cincinnati Enquirer's high school athlete of the week ballot for the week of Sept. 14. The ballot covers performances through Sunday, Sept. 13. Stein scored both goals in Indian Hill's 2-2 CHL draw with Wyoming during that window.
Boys golf wins CHL title
The boys soccer results followed a strong Monday for Indian Hill athletics. The Braves boys golf team won the CHL Championship on Monday, Sept. 14, posting a team score of 308 at The Mill Course to claim first place. The boys golf team heads to the OHSAA Sectional Tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 22, also at The Mill Course.
