Judge Alison Hatheway is seeking reelection to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, on Nov. 3, 2026. The county’s certified candidate list lists no opponent for the term beginning Feb. 13, 2027. It records her Democratic affiliation; party labels do not appear beside candidates for this Common Pleas seat on the general election ballot.
Experience and education
Hatheway’s current campaign website says she took the bench in 2021 and now serves as presiding and administrative judge. It does not say she held those leadership roles throughout that period.
Before joining the court, she spent nearly 14 years with the Hamilton County Public Defender, including as Juvenile Division director. She says her team established a participatory defense hub and received recognition from the State Public Defender. She has a speech communication degree from Muskingum and a law degree from Northern Kentucky University’s Chase College of Law.
Judicial priorities
Hatheway’s campaign emphasizes treatment through a felony mental health docket and evidence-based changes to probation supervision. She advocates fair enforcement of the law, better court technology, public access to court data and community education about the justice system.
Her official court page provides her courtroom procedures. The priorities above are attributed to her campaign.
Endorsements and questionnaire
The Hamilton County Democratic Party and Eastside Democratic Club endorse Hatheway for 2026. She did not return this outlet’s candidate questionnaire.
