Sycamore Township residents have until 8 a.m. on Wednesday to register storm damage for free curbside pickup, even if their debris isn't ready to haul to the curb yet.

Maintenance Superintendent Steve Reutelshofer declared a storm damage emergency following strong storms that hit the township Friday and Saturday. The township posted the announcement on its official X account Monday.

The declaration triggers the township's no-cost debris removal program. Without it, curbside brush pickup runs $50.

How to register

Residents can call 513-791-8447 or fill out the online service request form at sycamoretownship.org. When reporting, residents must indicate whether their debris is already at the curb or still needs to be moved.

The key detail: registering by the Wednesday morning deadline is what gets a household on the pickup list. Debris itself doesn't have to be curbside until two weeks after the storm, which means residents have until Friday, July 31, to get branches and brush to the curb.

What happens if you miss the deadline

Residents who don't register by 8 a.m. Wednesday won't qualify for the free pickup. Their options narrow to bagging sticks and brush for regular garbage collection or hauling material to the township's free monthly brush chipping program.
