The sixth annual Run4Sue 5K returns to Wooster Pike on Sunday, Oct. 4, led by Indian Hill High School graduate Daniel Harder in honor of his late mother.

Harder, a member of the IHHS class of 2015, and his father, John Harder, created the race after Sue Harder died suddenly on Jan. 11, 2021, at age 58. Sue was a member of the Fleet Feet Running Club who completed three marathons and numerous half marathons. Her final race was a virtual Cincinnati Flying Pig.

Her memorial page describes her as a welcoming supporter who cheered on new runners in the club.

All proceeds from the race go to Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati. The money funds a program called Sue's Running Buddies, a need-based scholarship that helps people accompany Girls on the Run participants on the 5K course when they otherwise could not afford to. Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati, in a December 2025 tribute, called Sue an ardent supporter of the organization and a familiar face in Cincinnati's running community.

Indian Hill Schools posted on X on Tuesday, Sept. 29, encouraging the Braves community to register and show support for the Harder family.

The race begins at 10:01 a.m. at 7668 Wooster Pike, Cincinnati, near Fleet Feet Fifty West. Registration costs $45 and closes Saturday, Oct. 3, at noon. Runners can sign up at run4sue.org.

Packet pickup is available at two locations. Fleet Feet Blue Ash, 9525 Kenwood Road, hosts pickup on Friday, Oct. 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. Race-morning pickup runs from 8 to 9:30 a.m. behind Fleet Feet Fifty West at 7667 Wooster Pike.

The Sue Harder Memorial Performing Arts Center at Indian Hill also bears her name, a reflection of the family's deep ties to the district.
